	ir. degree in Electrical Engineering Gent (Belgium) 1970, dr. degree in Electrical Engineering Gent 1978. 1970: research assistent at the Electronics Laboratory of Gent University. 1972: Polytechnic Faculty of the National University of Zaire at Lubumbashi (Shaba) in a government technical co-operation project. 1975: assistant at dept. ELIS of Gent University. Since 1988: professor at Gent University. Retired at the end of academic year 2011-2012 after 42 years of service.
